DIESEL MECHANIC INSTRUCTOR
The Automotive / Diesel Technology Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and hands-on instruction in automotive and heavy-duty diesel systems. The instructor will prepare students for entry-level to mid-level employment as diesel technicians by teaching industry-aligned curriculum, emphasizing safety, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repair of commercial vehicles.
This role requires a strong technical background, effective teaching skills, and a commitment to student success, safety, and workforce readiness.
Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic

Strong knowledge of heavy-duty diesel systems and repair procedures

Ability to teach both theory and practical hands-on skills

High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications

ASE Certifications (A Series and/or T Series preferred)

Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience (formal or informal)

Experience with commercial vehicles, trucks, or fleet maintenance

Familiarity with workforce training programs, apprenticeships, or vocational education

CDL (Class A or B) – preferred but not required
